Admissions Review and Decision Handoff

Admissions Review and Decision Handoff

The Principal admissions view provides context for applications awaiting school review. Use it to assess evidence and prepare a clear decision handoff; a decision alone does not create an enrollment, section placement, or family communication.

Available now. Last reviewed: 19 August 2026.

Review an admissions case

  1. Confirm the applicant identity, guardian contact, target grade, current stage, and staff notes.
  2. Check that the evidence required by your school’s admissions policy has been reviewed through the approved process.
  3. Record a factual decision rationale that is suitable for the school record.
  4. Hand the outcome to the authorised Staff/Admin owner for operational follow-up.
  5. Verify that the applicant record reflects the agreed next step before closing the leadership review.

What happens next

Staff and School Admin complete the confirmed operational follow-up, including any enrollment, class placement, or approved family communication.

For duplicate applications and operational handoff problems, see Principal troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting

A placement is requested urgently

Record the request but do not promise a section, start date, or fee. School Admin must confirm enrollment and capacity.

The case includes safeguarding, health, or identity concerns

Do not add unnecessary detail to decision notes; use the school’s safeguarded escalation route.

A decision must be revised or the case is incomplete

Preserve a factual decision trail and return it to the authorised review workflow instead of creating another application or approving without a clear policy basis.
