Flexible Reading Groups
Quranic reading progression frequently cuts across traditional academic grade levels. The Quran module allows schools to assemble specialized recitation circles (Halaqah) based on individual reading fluency rather than age.
Create and manage reading groups
- Navigate to Quran Groups (
/islamic-learning/quran/groups). - Click New Group and provide a descriptive name (e.g., Iqra Foundation 1, Juz Amma Circle, or Advanced Tilawah).
- Assign the designated Quran teacher or Ustadh.
- Select the appropriate reading stage curriculum (e.g., Iqra Levels 1–6, Juz 30, or Full Mushaf).
- Enroll students into the group. GiST database exclusions ensure that a student cannot be assigned to overlapping active reading groups simultaneously.
Daily Recitation Workstation
Teachers use the daily teaching interface to log real-time progress during recitation sessions.
Log a daily recitation entry
- Open the teaching workstation at
/islamic-learning/quran/teach. - Select your active reading group to load the student list.
- Click on a student to select the current book or Surah and specify the starting and ending Ayah range.
- Record the fluency rating (Fluent, Minor Hesitation, or Needs Reinforcement) along with teacher pronunciation remarks.
- Click Save Entry. The record immediately updates the student's learning timeline.
