Understanding School Data
Agiled uses connected school records. Learning the connections makes it easier to decide where a change belongs and to avoid fixing one screen while breaking another.

Academic Year and Term
An academic year is the whole school year. A term is a dated part of that year, such as Term 1 or Semester 1. One year and one term are active for daily work.
User and role
A user is a person with an account. Their role determines which tools and records they can use. A person may have a primary role and, when appropriate, additional roles.
Section and student enrollment
A section is a class group, such as Grade 3 Blue. Student enrollment records connect a student to a section and term. Assigning a student to a section is not the same as merely creating their user account.
Subject and subject allocation
A subject is a reusable catalogue item, such as Mathematics. A subject allocation is the teaching instance for one subject, section, teacher, and term. This is the record used by the timetable and grading workflow.
Room and schedule entry
A room is a physical location. A schedule entry places a subject allocation into a day and time slot, with an optional room.
Grade scale and grading template
A grade scale converts an achieved result into a label or value, such as A or 4.0. A grading template defines the weighted parts that teachers use to calculate a final result.
How a change travels through the school
If you move a student to another section, check their enrollment, the teachers' class lists, their subject allocations, and their timetable. If you change an active term, check that the sections, allocations, and schedule you expect are available for that term.
