Understanding Teaching Data and Handoffs
The Teacher workspace depends on connected school records. When one link is missing, the safe response is to identify the missing record and hand it to the person who owns that setup.

Key teaching records
Section and enrollment
A section is a class group. An active enrollment places a student in that section for the term and determines who should appear in the roster.
Subject allocation
A subject allocation connects a subject, section, teacher, and term. It is the record behind your subject class and gradebook.
Schedule entry
A timetable entry places an assigned class into a day and time slot. It helps teachers choose the correct lesson context for daily work.
Grade status
Grade drafts can be edited. Submitted grades are locked for review; an authorised Staff or Admin role can return them to draft or publish them.
Handoffs that keep data accurate
- Ask the School Admin to correct a missing term, section, enrollment, teacher assignment, subject allocation, or timetable entry.
- Send a submitted-grade correction request to the authorised reviewer; do not create a replacement grade record.
- Hand official document verification, issuing, voiding, and controlled-stock work to Staff or Admin.
- Escalate safeguarding, health, disciplinary, and family matters using the school’s approved process.
What happens next
Correcting the source record allows the Teacher workspace to show the right class, students, timetable, and assessment context without duplicate records.
